Using Flash cards never gets old

Even as someone about to get a masters in social work, flash cards never get old. Flash cards are a great way to get needed information into your head, especially before a big test. You may not think they would work well for the board exam because where will you get cards that have the information you need? These very cards are exactly what you need because they have all of the material on them that you need to know for this test. They are well organized and easy to carry around and they don't even cost that much! You might have thought that flash cards for someone with a masters is a little silly, but when you see the information on these cards, you'll realize just how perfect they are, no matter what your level of education.

DO NOT BUY THIS!!! A waste of money

Please do not spend your money on this. I am an already-licensed practitioner who is working with several of my staff to becmome certified at the masters level and purchased this to work with my staff on preparing for the exam. One of my staff had already taken the exam and not passed. When I had prepared for the exam 12 years ago there was a very nice practice book with a sample exam in it that got one used to the types of questions asked and explained how the answers were scored. THIS IS NOT LIKE THAT AT ALL. All this is is a bunch of sheets of paper that are perforated to be spit into cards. One on side of the card it says something like "define the homeless problem" and on the other side it does into a lengthy explanation of what the prevailing social worker ideas are about homelessness. THIS WILL NOT HELP YOU PASS THE TEST. At All. And it is not even really a "flashcard" system. A flashcard is something you look quickly at and move along. This is something you too at and then turn over and read for 10 minutes. Each side starts with "Define XYZ" and the other side just defines the prevailing social work theory of that thing. This is so useless that I would have been better off taking my $39.95 and investing it in FaceBook stock. I am going to instead try and purchase the software that has the sample questions on it. From my own personal experience, the main thing that helps people pass the ASWB exams is understanding how the questions are asked and what kind of answers they are looking for. For example, when they say "a 16 year old walks into your office and says he does want to be there, what is the FIRST thing you should do?" what they want you to say is confirm that indeed he doesn't need to be there if he doesn't want to, but most people instead say that they will try to convince him that they are just here to help him. Wrong answer. Self determination is a core SW value and that is the answer they are looking for. Practice questions with correct answers explained are the only way people will begin to understand how the exam is structured. So, please spend your money somewhere else.

excellent prep for generalist exam - easy to use on Kindle

I am preparing for the LGSW exam and this is very good. I had purchased the paper version but found it cumbersome and didn't use it. Now that I have it on Kindle I can take it with me where ever I go. I have it on a few devices.
